About me and what I do

Since I qualified as an art psychotherapist in 2016, I’ve worked in a range of settings including private practice, secondary schools, a youth offenders’ unit, an adult mental health refuge and care homes.

I understand how important it is to create a warm, welcoming and safe environment for my clients. I make sure you feel protected and nurtured even when being vulnerable and exploring distressing feelings.

My approach is person centred. This means I will tailor my sessions around what you want to focus on and what your specific needs are. It’s also psychoeducational, so I will help you learn more about your past and how it impacts your brain and body. And it’s psychodynamic too, which means we will look at unconscious internal emotions that you might have which can influence your outward emotions and behaviours. This kind of work focuses on the here and now in the therapy session. There is no formula: it’s free flowing and organic.
