About art therapy
It’s a form of psychotherapy that uses art as the main mode of expression and communication. Like other types of therapy, it helps people express their feelings, learn more about why they feel the way they do, and then find solutions in that understanding. What makes art therapy different, is that it doesn’t rely on language. Sometimes there are no words, especially when dealing with intense or painful feelings. Then, art therapy can tap into a different type of creativity to help make sense of the world.
Is art therapy for you?
Art therapy is for everyone. If you’ve got a disability or difficulty, it’s for you. If you have any diagnoses, it’s for you. If you don’t have any diagnoses, it’s for you. If you’re young, old or anywhere in between… if you have an emotional, behavioural or mental health problem, a learning or physical disability, a life-limiting condition, neurological condition or physical illnesses, or if you just want to get clarity in your thoughts and feelings… it’s for you! No previous art experience needed.
About sessions with me
I offer individual and group sessions.
Each lasts for one hour.
I want to make art therapy as accessible as possible, so I offer a sliding scale for costs depending on individual circumstances.
If you’d like to book a session, ask any questions, or chat some more about how you could benefit from art therapy with me, please give me a call on 07727253016, or email belle.shilliday@gmail.com and I’ll get back to you.
